Josephine Zayal

Josephine Zayal was born in Damascus (Siria) in 1971 and has lived in Florence since 1990.

After experimenting with media she finally dedicated herself to watercolour. From 1992 till 1995 she was part of a team of art-restores in a Florentine workshop. She has also worked on different archeological sites in Italy.

Exhibitions

In 1998 Josephine had a one woman exhibition in Damascus at the Goethe Institute. In the same year she took part in the renovation of ceilings and painted walls of an ancient villa using the a-secco tecnique. In 1999 she got her diploma from the liceo artistico in Florence and participated in a collective exhibition of watercolours in Settignano (Florence).
She had now focused her interest on printmaking und the guidance of artist printmaker Walter Sarfatti.
